Meal Teams
Breakfast Teams
Provide a hot breakfast to our residents on a Saturday or Sunday morning. San Jose Family Shelter has a full service kitchen. You may prepare your meal onsite or bring it ready to serve. Typical breakfast dishes: eggs, bacon, ham, fruits, and juice. Other ideas include pancakes, waffles, oatmeal, grits, sausage, French toast etc.
Breakfast is served from 7:30am-8:30am.
Please note: This is a donation of both food and time for about 100 residents.
Lunch Teams
Provide a hot lunch to our residents on a Saturday or Sunday morning. San Jose Family Shelter has a full service kitchen. You may prepare your meal onsite or bring it ready to serve. Typical dishes: chili, chicken, pasta, casseroles, pizza, hotdogs, salad, vegetables, bread, rolls or tortillas, etc.
Lunch is served from 12:00pm-1:00pm.

Dinner Teams
Provide a hot dinner to our residents on a Friday and/or a holiday. There are occasional Saturday or Sunday openings as well. San Jose Family Shelter has a full service kitchen. You may prepare your meal onsite, or bring it ready to serve. Typical dishes include: chicken, pasta, casseroles, pizza, roast beef, vegetables, rolls, burritos, dessert, etc.
Dinner is served from 5:00pm-6:30pm

Weekend Activity Leaders
Do you know of a group of people who enjoy creating and providing their own very special activity for children to participate in? We need you!
Examples of past activities include: kite making, popcorn and a movie, arts and crafts, and more.
Saturdays and Sundays are available 1:00pm-3:00pm and 3:00pm-5:00pm. Some Friday evenings are open between 6:30pm- 8:30pm.
Maximum number of volunteers is 10; volunteers under the age of 18 must have 1 parent aged adult supervisor for every 5 volunteers (e.g.: For 10 volunteers under the age of 18, 2 adult supervisors are needed).
