SJSU’s Dirty Brushes Join Forces with Family Supportive Housing

The Dirty Brushes, a group of Fine Arts graduate students from San Jose State University, have partnered with Family Supportive Housing to create a welcoming and beautiful atmosphere at the New San Jose Family Shelter. The Dirty Brushes have donated their time and talent to making our stairwells more than just functional; they are educational works of art.

These murals are featured in the shelter’s two stairwells. Residents will be taken on a trip through California’s biospheres, showcasing the biological diversity of our state. One stairwell will feature scenes from the Pacific Ocean, from the deepest depths to the tide pools found across the California Coastline. The other stairwell will take us deep into the Redwood Forrest and off to the rugged Sierra Nevada Mountains.
