Break the cycle
A key requirement for a child to break the cycle of poverty and dependence is a strong, engaging education. Our after-school programs offer year-round mandatory educational activities ensuring a positive, growing and healthy self-image. On-site Voyager Childcare Center provides a safe, loving and nurturing environment where infants, toddlers and preschoolers can play and learn while their parents are working or actively in search of employment.

Summertime Programs10 weeks of individual and group meetings and activities with the children at the Shelter run by Occupational Therapist Interns. The Interns also run three weeks of day camps. This valuable program teaches the children many things and introduces them to exciting new opportunities. Each week there is a different theme and they travel offsite one day to a different community program. We also offer a weeklong camp experience in the Coastal Redwoods. The benefit of the summer program is two-fold. It provides the children fun, education, socialization and structure during the summer months, as well as providing their parents with the time they need to work or actively search for employment and permanent housing. |
