Many Bay Area companies offer a matching gift program for their employees, which can double, or even triple, your contribution. Retired employees, directors, and spouses are often eligible to participate in the program.
Visit your company’s H.R. office to request a matching gift form. Complete it and send it along with your donation to Family Supportive Housing.
We accept — and appreciate — donations every Monday through Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Donor Advised Fund (DAF)
A Donor advised fund (DAF) is a type of charitable investment account that allows you to recommend grants to charities of your choice over time. Donor advised funds also provide an immediate tax benefit to you!
Granting to Family Supportive Housing through your DAF is simple and easy. You can recommend a gift to Family Supportive Housing today, or on a recurring basis (monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually) to help the families being served by Family Supportive Housing.
Gifts of appreciated securities that have been held for longer than one year are exempt from capital gains taxes. When you donate appreciated stock to Family Supportive Housing, you are entitled to a tax deduction equal to the fair market value of the securities at the time of transfer.
To avoid exposure to capital gains tax, the stock must be transferred to Family Supportive Housing. We then sell the stock from our account. Stocks may be transferred electronically or directly. To facilitate the electronic transfer of funds, please provide the following information to your broker:

We will provide a confirmation statement of your stock donation for your tax records.
A gift to Family Supportive Housing in your will or revocable trust enables you to make a difference in the lives of future families. A bequest is easy to arrange, will not alter your current lifestyle in any way, and can be easily modified to address your changing needs.

IRA AND OTHER RETIREMENT PLAN GIFTS
Naming Family Supportive Housing as the beneficiary of your 401(k), 403(b), IRA, Keogh or pension plan allows you to help homeless families, while also realizing significant tax savings.
Making a charitable gift from your retirement plan is easy and should not cost you any attorney fees.
Simply request a change-of-beneficiary form from your plan administrator. That form usually asks for the name of the beneficiary (Family Supportive Housing, Inc.), its address (692 N. King Road, San Jose, CA), and a tax identification number (77-0106237).
When you have completed the form, please return the form to your plan administrator and notify us that you have named Family Supportive Housing as a beneficiary.
